ACADEMIC AIMS
Academic teaching is based on the National Curriculum but, in many cases, goes beyond it. Stoneygate offers each child a broad range of learning experiences. The main academic subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, French, Latin, History, Geography, Information Technology, Music, Drama, Physical Education and Sport. The School accepts children with abroad range of academic ability; it also offers support to those who may need it in some academic areas and also prepares those who may go on to sit scholarship examinations to their senior schools. Stoneygate pupils have won academic scholarships as well as awards for music, art and sporting prowess. Most children stay at Stoneygate until the end of Year 8, when they transfer to their senior school, usually by means of the Common Entrance Examination. The School encourages all children to reach their potential and to experience a wide range of educational opportunity.
