Rampant Rugby Ball Run
Rampant Rugby Ball Run
From Claire Sillett
After months of preparation ex Stoneygate pupil Charlotte Thompson and Kay Johnson have organised their latest fundraiser for LOROS, a hospice in Leicester for the terminally ill.
On February 23rd a coach will leave Hallaton with a team of runners including myself, Charlotte Thompson, Kay Johnson, Tom Joules, Amazon Trekker Ed Stafford, London Marathon Race Director Hugh Brasher, Mark Ormrod a triple amputee injured in Afghanistan who recently crossed America on blades, Chris Korn, star of BBC 1 series The Magicians, Times columnist Kate Percy and a host of rugby players.
We will travel to Devon to begin our challenge….. 200 miles in 48 hours to Twickenham. We will be relaying 3 mile legs continuously and will be joined by various sporting celebrities along the way. Finishing on Friday 25th we will be met by Martin Johnson then on Saturday we will be hosting a fund raising day at Twickenham. During half time we will run onto the pitch in front of an 85,000 crowd and a text to win competition for an amazing hospitality package during the World Cup.
The Rampant Rugby Ball Run, sponsored by Lions Rampant Sporting is going to be an incredible event. Stoneygate are supporting me in this huge challenge by inviting all the pupils at school to run a mile on Friday 18th February and donating £1 to LOROS. Prizes are available for the children who come to school in the best outfit in their given colour. Please also remember the cake sale at break time on that day.
Thank you to the parents who have already sponsored me online at uk.virginmoneygiving.com or signed my sponsor form.
