Tigers Day

The day began with a two hour coaching session, run by the community coaches. Despite the cold, the boys threw themselves into the skills practices and matches and had a great time.

Once changed, the boys were thrilled to meet Tigers captain, Geordan Murphy. He answered their questions and then signed autographs.

We then moved to the Welford Road ground where we watched an entertaining match between Tigers and Leeds. The only disappointment was that all the tries were scored at the opposite end of the ground to our seats! During the half-time interval we had a final treat, when we walked around the pitch, waving to the crowd, and we had a group photograph taken in front of the terrace.

It was a most enjoyable day and the staff involved were impressed by the enthusiasm and good behaviour of the children. We plan to repeat this activity in a couple of years time.
