Prep (Years 3-8)

The senior department is comprised of children in Years Three to Eight. As they move through this part of the school, the children receive more and more specialist teaching.  Their progress continues to be carefully monitored and parents are kept well informed by means of regular parent/teacher meetings and reports.  Parents are always welcome to contact teachers if they have any concerns about their children.

When pupils reach Year 5, they stay for an hour after tea to do their homework or ‘prep’, as it is known, at school.  During Year 8, the children sit entrance examinations to a wide range of senior independent schools.  Stoneygate has an outstanding record of success in preparing pupils for these tests.

Parents are requested to ensure that we have up-to-date medical, dietary and emergency contact details for each child.
