'Private Peaceful'

On Friday, Years 8, 9 and 10 went to the Royal and Derngate Theatre in Northampton to watch Simon Reade’s adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Private Peaceful’. For many of them it was the first time they had been to a monologue performance. The one man show watches Tommo re-live the key events of his life as he waits to face the firing squad at dawn. This opportunity to enjoy live theatre was twinned with the links to History and its relevance to the studies the students are currently undertaking. The students behaved extremely well and had an enjoyable morning.
